About us

The ALO Foundation, Inc. was established by the Alpha Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, with a shared commitment to expanding opportunities and strengthening the community. While closely connected in purpose, both organizations operate as separate and distinct entities, each dedicated to service and impact.

Founded in 1995 and incorporated by the State of North Carolina in 1996, the ALO Foundation was created to support educational and charitable initiatives that uplift individuals and families. In February 1997, the Foundation attained its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and has remained in good standing, allowing contributors and supporters to make tax-deductible contributions that directly benefit the community.

The Foundation is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes, focusing on the development and implementation of programs that create lasting change. Through scholarships, donations, and outreach efforts, the ALO Foundation works to remove barriers, provide resources, and open doors for those it serves.

Today, the ALO Foundation, Inc. continues its legacy of service by investing in the future—empowering students through scholarships and supporting communities through meaningful charitable contributions. Rooted in purpose and driven by impact, the Foundation remains dedicated to making a difference, one opportunity at a time.
